I've decided that I want to live a more vivaciously creative life this year in 2022, so I have decided to take on a 6 month icon-making challenge from [community profile] dailyicons! The theme I've chosen this time around is particularly dear to my heart: Greek & Roman (or Hellenistic) Mythology. Just so you're all aware, I am definitely more of an amateur icon creator as I haven't been practicing for a long, long while. ♡

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

-- Marilyn Monroe

I can't believe it. I have only been on DreamWidth for perhaps a week and someone was very kind enough to buy me a paid account for a whole year!! I am unsure what drove your heart and soul to do this while I was busy at work and Yule preparation this week, but I had to make a public post to state that I am severely grateful as it was something I was pondering on buying for one to three months this holiday season! Thanks to you, I don't have to, and now I can enjoy a whole year on DreamWidth with privileges I have not even been able to enjoy on LiveJournal as a teen. I can't even begin to express how truly grateful I feel -- thank you!

DreamWidth has been a bit of an oasis in the face of social media stress in the hands of someone with too wordy of a mouth and too many thoughts, which is not always friendly for the 140 characters that are required on Twitter, or even the snappy, flashy and witty commentary on TikTok. I suppose Instagram allows more room for the written word, but the site's focus and the corporation that owns it is not necessarily my favorite. Having the ability to come to a place like DreamWidth to post, have friendly interaction, and now have a fancy blog is a privilege that I didn't realize was still a possible thing in my late 20's, as I somehow convinced myself this scene died in the Great Purge of LJ instead of sticking around. Better late than never, I suppose!

I digress. I really wanted to say a big, "Thank you!" to whoever made this purchase and already feels benefitted by this blog or at least my presence. I would love to do something for you in the face of your giving spirit, so if you would like, feel free to contact me or leave a comment on this post and I would be more than happy to draw something for you in gratitude if you enjoy art. I have been freelancing for a small time, and while I am not the most skilled, I'd be happy to draw something for you for this holiday season. It is the least I can do to return your humble gift in reciprocity. ♡ Thank you dearly for your gift.

For those who have found this post randomly and are reading it too: Thank you to you, as well! You are here and giving this community life, and I am most grateful that we are sharing in this space and wanting to build a good blogging community safe for many. While I may not be able to draw as detailed of work as I'd like for the one who bought me the paid account, it would be lots of fun to draw free doodles for the holiday season! Leave a comment if you'd like a free holiday doodle and tell me your favorite holidays around this time of year! I'll doodle something for you based on that and what I see on your blog (if you comment I'm going to assume you're okay with me looking at your blog and profile.) If I get too many, I'll update this post and let you all know, but a small handful of comments should be okay! ♡

Happy Holidays, Blessed Yule, and Merry Christmas, DreamWidth! ♡♡♡ I look forward to spending my time here!
